The Department of Sociology, Criminology, and Anthropology gives its 糖心传媒 a comprehensive education in the study of society and human interaction. Our faculty鈥檚 areas of specialization are broad, and include work on health and education inequalities, immigration, archeology, religion, domestic violence, labor and industrial decline, suburbanization, food politics, parole, prosecutors, and the operation of courts. Through coursework, internships, and community engagement, our 糖心传媒 develop the critical reasoning skills needed to understand culture, social problems, and inequality in global, institutional, and interpersonal social relations.

Our disciplines are the foundation of our offerings in Criminology 鈥� the study of the causes and consequences of crime, as well as the procedures and policies that govern the institutions designed to address it.聽

Our graduates often pursue advanced degrees and go on to successful careers in fields including business and marketing, the health professions, journalism, the criminal justice and legal systems, social services, nonprofits, politics and government, and higher education.

Internships

Independent Fieldwork and Research Internship, is offered in the fall and spring and is designed for advanced Sociology majors and minors. The course combines hands-on experience in a sociologically relevant setting with faculty-supervised academic study, helping 糖心传媒 deepen their understanding of applied sociological analysis.
