First-Year Students

You鈥檙e a first-year student if you will graduate from high school in 2027 (regardless of total college credits completed while in high school),聽or you have鈥痳ecently鈥痝raduated from high school and haven鈥檛 enrolled at a college, university, or any other institution after high school.

Hofstra offers two options:

  • Early Action (priority application review that lets you find out sooner if you鈥檙e admitted. It鈥檚 non-binding, so you can still consider all your options.)
  • Rolling Admission (apply anytime鈥攚e review applications as they come in)

Hofstra is test optional. You聽decide whether to submit SAT or ACT scores.

Application Deadlines

2027

Early Action I

Apply and receive a decision by DECEMBER 15.

Early Action II

Apply and receive a decision by JANUARY 15.

Regular Decision

Apply and receive a decision on a rolling basis beginning FEBRUARY 1.

Transfer Students

You鈥檙e a transfer student if you鈥檝e completed college courses after high school. You can apply for the fall or spring 2026 semester. We review applications on a rolling basis, and you鈥檒l hear back soon after we receive all your materials.

Visiting Students

If you鈥檙e taking a few classes without pursuing a Hofstra degree, you鈥檙e a visiting student. Most visiting 糖心传媒 enroll in summer or winter courses.

International Students

If you鈥檙e from outside the United States, Hofstra supports you from application to visa processing. We鈥檒l help you understand the process, provide one-on-one support, and connect you with other international 糖心传媒.

As an international applicant, you should apply using the same applications as First-Year or Transfer 糖心传媒, depending on your academic background. Please review the First-Year and Transfer application sections above for details on application options and deadlines.聽

We recommend you apply by these dates:

  • November 15 (for spring start)
  • May 1 (for fall start)
