Learn the fundamentals of starting and running a business in this 5-day program. Covering business types, entrepreneurship, marketing, financial planning, and the future of AI in business, ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½ will develop their own startup ideas, create business plans, and pitch their ventures. Hands-on activities include market research, branding, budgeting, and integrating AI for innovation. Perfect for aspiring entrepreneurs!

  • Day 1: What is a Business? - Understand the basics of what a business is and the types of businesses that exist. Activity: Create a business idea and pitch it.
  • Day 2: How to Start Your Own Business - Learn the steps required to start a business from scratch. Activity: Outline a business plan and target market.
  • Day 3: Marketing Your Business - Dive into marketing and understand how to attract customers. Activity: Design a marketing campaign including logo and tagline.
  • Day 4: Fundraising & Financials - Learn fundraising basics and managing business finances. Activity: Create a basic budget and projected revenue.
  • Day 5: The Future of Business - AI and Innovation - Explore how AI is changing the landscape. Activity: Integrate AI into business ideas and improve operations.

ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½ the Instructor
Gina Farrell holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½ as well as a Master of Business Administration in Health Administration from City University of New York Baruch College/Mount Sinai School of Medicine. She spent most of her professional career in management positions in hospital and private practice settings. She decided to pursue a teaching career and returned to Hofstra to complete her C.A.S. in Business Education. She is currently a Business Education teacher at Plainview-Old Bethpage JFK HS and a Board Member for Long Island Business Teachers Association. She strives to incorporate the professional experiences she has had in her early career into her classroom to prepare ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½ to be college and career ready.

There is an additional fee for transportation for one-week precollegiate camps.
