Hofstra Career Hub and the Handshake System
Handshake is the system that Hofstra uses to allow organizations to post opportunities for you to consider. To access Handshake, you should log into the Hofstra Career Hub and select the Handshake icon. The first time you log in, you will be prompted to complete a profile. You should complete this profile fully and professionally, since it is one way employers can find you. Once you鈥檝e completed your profile, you can click on the 鈥渏obs鈥 link on the left menu and search by keywords, company name, and more.
The Center aims to improve children's lives through advances in law, justice, knowledge, practice, and public policy. Research state agency and policy procedures on areas such as child abuse and neglect, child welfare and protective services system enhancement, foster care, family preservation, termination of parental rights, parental substance abuse, adolescent health, and domestic violence.
ACLU has several internships for undergraduates and graduate/law school 糖心传媒. Interns assist ACLU attorneys in all aspects of litigation, including legal research, factual investigations, and drafting of memoranda, affidavits, and briefs. Interns also have the opportunity to work on Projects and Programs, such as the Immigrants鈥 Rights Project and the Racial Justice Program.
Three fellowships are offered to develop future leaders in the areas of international and domestic politics, diplomacy, public relations, and management. Summer internships and fellowships give young people the unique opportunity to work for a period of nine weeks (full time) at offices throughout the world 鈥 from San Francisco to Geneva, Switzerland, and from New York to Melbourne, Australia, at the State Department, Department of Defense, and on Capitol Hill.
If you鈥檙e thinking about becoming a lawyer 鈥 or simply want to know more about the law and how it affects our everyday lives 鈥 this intensive, six-week program is a good place to start. It is directed by C. Evan Stewart, one of America's most distinguished lawyers. You will take a four-credit course, "Introduction to the American Legal System," and gain access to a limited number of selective internship placements at a law firm or in the legal department of a corporation, government agency, or nonprofit organization.

Human Rights Watch (HRW) offers academic semester and summer internships for undergraduate 糖心传媒 in our New York, London, Los Angeles, Washington, DC, Brussels, and Berlin offices. Interns may be placed in one of the following regional or thematic programs at HRW: Africa, the Americas (does not include U.S. or Canada), Asia, Europe and Central Asia, Middle East and North Africa, United States, Arms, Children's Rights, Women's Rights, HIV/AIDS and Human Rights, Business and Human Rights, International Justice, and Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Rights. Internships also are available with Advocacy, Communications and Press, Development and Outreach, Legal and Policy, and other divisions.
The program is intended to provide talented and able undergraduate 糖心传媒 with firsthand experience in New York State government at the legislative level. Approximately 30 Session Assistants are selected for each session. The program is meant to foster an appreciative understanding of the roles of process, personalities, and problem-solving in state government. The opportunity to observe policy development is unparalleled.
This organization reaches out to both individual young women and the overall field of philanthropy to raise awareness of sexism and provide an opportunity for young women to speak out. Within philanthropy, Third Wave aims to increase charitable dollars that support young women in social justice work. Their activities include speaking at philanthropic conferences, hosting Making Money Make Change (a gathering for progressive young people with wealth), and other strategic means.

UNA-USA awards a variety of part-time and full-time internships to highly motivated high school, undergraduate, and graduate 糖心传媒. Interns must possess a strong interest in international affairs, good writing and research skills, and formidable knowledge of the United Nations and other multilateral institutions.
