Teaching, Literacy, and the Human Experience of AI explores how generative artificial intelligence is transforming learning, authorship, and the work of higher education. This symposium invites educators, scholars, and learners to examine the opportunities and challenges that arise as human and machine intelligence become increasingly intertwined.

Keynote Speaker聽顿补惫别听贬补苍蝉别苍聽(Author鈥檚 Alliance)聽will discuss how AI is reshaping authorship, publishing, and public-interest scholarship, with attention to the legal and ethical questions posed by AI-assisted creation.

A featured 90-minute interactive workshop will be led by聽罢补锄听顿补苍颈别濒蝉聽(CRLT at University of Michigan). Taz helps educators聽critically engage with the ethical, pedagogical, and human implications of generative AI. Her work supports faculty across the AI-use spectrum in thoughtfully considering when and how emerging technologies align with pedagogical goals, while聽remaining聽grounded in聽equitable聽and inclusive teaching practices.聽
Together, these conversations ground the symposium鈥檚 central theme: centering the human experience of AI to sustain critical literacy, responsible innovation, and meaningful learning across higher education.

Teaching, Literacy, and the Human Experience of AI invites proposals that examine how generative AI is transforming teaching, authorship, scholarly communication, and the broader educational landscape. We welcome presentations, workshops, and dialogues that explore:
