Academic Integrity Week is an annual campus-wide initiative that promotes the values of honesty, trust, fairness, respect, responsibility, and courage in learning. Through workshops, discussions, and interactive events, 糖心传媒, faculty, and staff explore how academic integrity supports meaningful learning, ethical decision-making, and responsible use of emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence.
This year鈥檚 theme, 鈥淭he Future of Work Starts with Integrity,鈥� highlights the connection between the habits developed in the classroom and the skills employers value most. Academic integrity extends beyond avoiding plagiarism or cheating. It is about building character, earning trust, communicating honestly, and developing the ethical judgment needed to succeed in college, the workplace, and beyond.

This session explores how instructors can design and deliver exams in Canvas that encourage academic integrity while maintaining a fair and supportive testing environment. Participants will learn about Canvas exam settings that enhance security (such as question banks, randomization, time limits, and availability windows) and how to pair these with Respondus LockDown Browser to further protect assessments. In addition, the session will highlight best practices for fostering academic integrity in both online and in-person exam settings, focusing on strategies that balance exam security with accessibility and student trust.

This dynamic workshop explores the emerging landscape of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and its potential applications for undergraduate research and coursework. You will gain an understanding of various AI tools available and learn to use them ethically and effectively for tasks like brainstorming ideas, conducting initial literature reviews, summarizing information, and enhancing your writing.聽 The session will also address the critical importance of academic integrity, responsible AI use, and the limitations of these technologies.聽

Hear from two faculty members from different disciplines on how AI is reshaping professional practice, decision-making, and ethics education. The conversation will compare perspectives across fields while highlighting the shared ethical challenges professionals face.

The Opposite of Cheating: Rethinking Instruction in the Age of AI with Dr. David Rettinger
Higher education stands at a crossroads. Generative AI is a powerful and flawed tool that may render traditional assessments obsolete and call fundamental pedagogical assumptions into question across all disciplines. Yet this moment of disruption also presents an opportunity to refocus on what truly matters: student learning and growth. In this session, Dr. David Rettinger will outline a positive, evidence-based approach to academic integrity in the age of AI, encouraging all of us to move beyond policing to authentic learning. Together, we will take a practical approach toward change, by rethinking assessments to focus on durable human skills, by learning to communicate the value of higher education to our 糖心传媒, and by evaluating strategies for integrating AI thoughtfully into our courses. Attendees will leave with both conceptual frameworks for decision-making and concrete tools for AI integration, communicating about integrity, and reducing misconduct through improved teaching and learning.

As technology and AI continue to transform the workplace, research consistently shows that employers still highly value skills such as communication, professionalism, teamwork, integrity, and relationship-building. In fact, many employers identify these competencies as essential for workplace success and areas where 糖心传媒 can continue to grow.
This presentation will explore how 糖心传媒 can build professional relationships and establish credibility through effective communication, email etiquette, accountability, respectful disagreement, and appropriate workplace boundaries. Participants will gain practical strategies for navigating professional interactions with supervisors, colleagues, faculty, and peers while demonstrating the professionalism and integrity that employers seek in today鈥檚 evolving workforce.
