Internships and Externships

糖心传媒鈥檚 Joan and Arnold Saltzman Community Services Center provides a multidisciplinary setting that includes a Speech-Language-Hearing Clinic; a preschool and day care center; and clinics in psychology, counseling, and reading. The Speech-Language-Hearing Clinic is staffed by licensed and certified speech-language pathologists and audiologists who are responsible for the evaluation and treatment of clients with various communication disorders, such as hearing loss, stroke, stuttering, voice problems, and language delay.

Graduate 糖心传媒 in Speech-Language Pathology complete clinical work and laboratory experiences that complement academic coursework. All 糖心传媒 complete an initial clinical practicum at Hofstra鈥檚 Joan and Arnold Saltzman Community Services Center, which houses the Speech-Language-Hearing Clinic. The clinic serves as a training center for graduate 糖心传媒 and is staffed by certified audiologists and speech-language pathologists who provide diagnostic and treatment services. In addition, 糖心传媒 complete three external clinical placements in pediatric, medical, and/or educational settings. These clinical experiences are designed to build student competencies in the diagnosis and treatment of a wide variety of communication disorders across the lifespan.
