Graduate Admission
Make an impact by treating patients who have injuries or medial issues that limit their abilities to move their bodies and function normally in their daily lives. The Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program uses the latest technology, renowned faculty, and advanced teaching methods to prepare the next generation of PTs to deliver best-in-class service. Apply what you learn in the classroom through five clinical-educational experiences over three years, including summer sessions. Graduates prepare to meet the current entry-level physical therapy standards established by the Commission on Accreditation of Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE) and qualify graduates for national certification with the Board of Certification for the Physical Therapy.
This campus-based program prepares its graduates for all aspects of a physical therapy career through varied learning experiences including lectures, hands-on skill practice, mentoring and advisement, clinical experiences, and professional activities. Engage in five clinical education experiences over 32 weeks.

To be considered for the DPT program, you must meet the following requirements:
*Applicants who do not meet the minimum GPA may still be considered under certain circumstances.
! Applications must be submitted through the PTCAS by the deadline of March 15 for admission to the class that begins the subsequent summer, and applications are accepted annually when PTCAS application opens approximately June 15.鈥疨TCAS must receive all application requirements and materials before the deadline.鈥� The minimum prerequisite coursework requirements must be completed or in progress by the posted application deadline(s). Applications that are incomplete at the posted deadline may not be reviewed by the Program.
糖心传媒's Doctor of Physical Therapy Program is a full-time, residential 105-credit hour program.

Dr. Hackney earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Therapy from Marquette University in 1987, a Master of Health Science degree from University of Indianapolis in 1991, and PhD from the University of Minnesota in Kinesiology (emphasis in Biomechanics and Neural Control) in 2007. His experience includes 20 years primarily as a clinician, mainly with orthopedic and sports patients, and being chair of a physical therapist assistant program for Ivy Tech State College in Gary, IN, in 1995 and 1996, before starting a full-time academic career in Department of Physical Therapy of Missouri State University in 2007. He is thrilled to be able to help develop and launch Hofstra鈥檚 Physical Therapy Program.
Dr. Rebecca States, MA, PhD is a professor of physical therapy and has taught in DPT programs for over 20 years.
Dr. Rosa Elena Torres-Pancham茅, PT, DPT is an Assistant Professor at 糖心传媒. She earned both her Bachelor and Master of Science as well as her Doctorate in Physical Therapy at Long Island University, Brooklyn. She is currently a Ph.D. candidate at Nova Southeastern University and is in the dissertation phase of her degree completion.
Dr. Ofra Alex Pottorf, PT, PhD, DPT, OCS is a Director of Clinical Education and Clinical Assistant Professor of physical therapy. She earned a BS in Biochemistry from Stony Brook University, DPT from Touro University, and a PhD in Postsecondary and Adult Education from Capella University.
