Step Up to Success With Our Group Workshops!

The Center for Academic Excellence offers interactive academic workshops for undergraduate classes and Hofstra student clubs and organizations. Through hands-on activities, 糖心传媒 explore the factors that influence academic success and build foundational skills to thrive in college. Faculty teaching undergraduate courses may request a classroom visit, and undergraduate student leaders may request a workshop collaboration or program. Explore our topics below. To request a workshop, email cae@hofstra.edu with your preferred topic, potential dates and times, and anticipated number of participants. Requests received within the first two weeks of the semester will receive priority scheduling.

 Workshop Topics and Descriptions

  • The Ultimate Success Toolbox: Discover resources and strategies to navigate academic challenges and manage your responsibilities at Hofstra. Learn how to connect with professors, access campus support services, and build a toolkit for success.
  • Motivation Management: Explore practical ways to build motivation and stay on track. Reflect on what鈥檚 working, identify areas for change, and set weekly goals while developing a positive, productive mindset.
  • Time Management: Create a balanced, realistic schedule using the time-blocking method. Learn how to organize your to-do list, prioritize tasks, and make time for academics and other commitments.
  • Effective Study Strategies: Make the most of your study time with strategies that support understanding and retention. Explore approaches you can adapt to different subjects to make learning more engaging and effective.
  • Effective Note-Taking: Learn how to identify key information in lectures and readings and organize it into useful notes. Explore strategies that strengthen your understanding and make studying more efficient.
